Texto de contraportada

As the son of immigrants, Daniel Montenegro seems to have it all: a comfortable corporate job and a beautiful wife. But his apparent American dream begins to crumble when he slowly discovers family secrets from Cuba, initiated more than half a century ago when his grandfather rescued remnants of a Cuban Catholic church. After his father’s death, Daniel finds himself engulfed in a wave of secrets, stories, and emotions that lead him to question himself. As doubt, hope, and despair take hold of him, Daniel travels with Sofía and Lourdes from the cigar shops of Calle Ocho in Miami to the small town of Cueto in the mountains of eastern Cuba. His mission is to unravel the truth, a truth that reveals how the past is still alive in the present and that will culminate in a decision that will impact future generations. A plot inspired by true events.

Biografia del autor

Alfonso Dager was born in 1985 and belongs to a generation that lives between two worlds. He is old enough to remember cassette tapes, the Walkman, and Saturday morning cartoons, but also young enough to understand the impact of social media and the rise of smartphones. He studied at the University of Miami and the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he graduated as a software engineer. His passion for telling emotionally complex stories emerged in his late twenties and led him to write his debut novel, A Generation’s Gift. While exploring the stories of his Cuban-Lebanese family, he discovered the profound power and appeal of family history. Today, Alfonso lives in Georgia with his wife and three children, dedicating himself to the important task of passing down the lessons and legacies of the past to future generations.
